I’ve been wearing this outfit a lot lately. It’s super easygoing and I think that is why I love it so much. It’s not fussy at all but still makes me feel put together. It is the perfect simple and basic spring transition outfit. Sometimes finding something to wear on those in between days can be odd so here are somethings I do to make the change.
Jeans. Honestly, as much as I rave about leggings, I have really been missing and wearing my jeans a lot more lately (I think because I have to wear black pants to work, I am glad when I get the chance to change it up). Jeans make you look and feel awake and put together but are also simple and laid back.
Ditch the riding boots. As cute as they are, they are much better for fall and winter. Flip your jeans up and pair them with ankle boots, sneakers, or flats. It takes away from the winter bulk and is nice for the days that are a little warmer. I love these booties and have been wearing them a lot. I even paired them with a spring romper that you can check out.
Add some color. Start working in some brighter or lighter colors and leave the greys for a rainy day. Even just throwing on a brighter necklace or pair of earrings can make all the difference. Even neutrals and nudes are great, simple colors that look classy and lighten up your look for spring.
Lighten up. A lighter jacket is great for those chilly mornings but won’t bog you down all day. I love this green jacket from Maurice’s. I linked a similar one below (but without the black tie). A jean jacket would also be a great transition piece to just throw on. It may even be time to stop wearing those heavy knit turtle neck sweaters and your fave fleece leggings 😛
Freshen up your makeup. Moving into warmer weather doesn’t always mean just changing your outfits. While you may not be tan enough to start skipping some of your makeup routine just yet, adding a light pink lipstick, blush, or a bronzer will brighten things up–perfect for spring.
